The left Joy-Con desync issue has been plaguing Nintendo Switches everywhere. It's when while playing, suddenly the left controller of the Nintendo Switch will stop working suddenly. Nintendo released a statement that the problem is currently being fixed in a number of Switches being manufactured and that it will no longer be an issue.
Nintendo Switch And Joy-Con Desync Issue
Links everywhere are veering off where they are not supposed to because of the Nintendo Switch and its Joy-Con desync issue. The left controller of the console will suddenly stop working mid-game. Initially, Nintendo thought that the number of players who have been experiencing it is insignificant. Now the company is saying that a "manufacturing variation" is responsible for wirelessly interfering with the left Joy-Con.
According to CNET, the bad news is it's a hardware issue, but the good news is it can be fixed. The Joy-Con desync issue seems to occur only when the Nintendo Switch is being used wirelessly and that the gameplay does not get affected when it is in handheld mode. They took a screenshots of the faulty Joy-Con before and after it was sent to Nintendo for repair.
How To Repair The Joy-Con Desync Issue
The new working Joy-Con of the Nintendo Switch seems to have only one piece of hardware added to it and it is a little black foam. The report explained that it could likely be a piece of conductive foam specially treated with nickel and copper to shield electronics from RF interference. The foam was simply placed directly on top of the Joy-Con's antenna traces supporting the theory that it is protecting the antenna from interference.
They tested it again by removing the foam then played the Switch and the controller stopped working immediately. They also think the Nintendo has already fixed the issue on new Switch models since they bought a brand-new $50 controller on Amazon. This new controller was opened but there was no black foam inside, however it seems to be working just fine.
