It will be a while until fans finally get to see “Outlander” Season 3. However, sneak peeks of the upcoming new season have been released. They revealed tidbits of what is going to happen in the next season.
Claire Reunites With Jamie 20 Years Later
The sneak peeks of “Outlander” Season 3 revealed that Claire is going to be in a pinch as if she has not been since she time traveled and married another man. The brief sneak peek that was released showed Claire running in a green medical gown, otherwise called scrubs, hinting that she will most likely be staying in the medical field. Aside from that, another sneak peak reveals Claire and her first husband, Frank Randall in a heated argument, with her throwing things at him.
“Outlander” Season 3 will be based on “Voyager”, which is the third book in the “Outlander” series created by Diana Gabaldon. In the said book, Claire and her daughter, Brianna Randall, go on a quest to trace Jamie’s life since it was revealed that Brianna’s real father was Jamie. During the said quest, Claire is suddenly sent back to Scotland through the stone circle that enabled her to time travel the first time.
She finds herself hurled in Scotland 20 years since she was last there. She reunites with old friends, assuming that Jamie was dead for a couple of decades. However, not only did she eventually learn that Jamie’s still alive but also he has remarried. Claire once again finds herself treating the sick, this time in an English ship and she eventually reunites with Jamie after he decided to rescue her.
New Season Will Have Three Timelines; Airs In September 2017
Given how “Outlander” Season 3 will paint out, it will be sending Claire traveling through different timelines to find more out about Jamie. It has been reported that the cast has now flown to South Africa to shoot scenes that happened 20 years later as depicted in the book. Even writer Gabaldon went to the shoot to help with the production.
Aside from the timelines, the new season will reveal various new characters. The third season of “Outlander” has been scheduled to air in September 2017. It will reportedly release 13 episodes.
