The recently launched HTC One has reached AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, and the only major carrier currently not offering the HTC One is Verizon. However, recent rumors suggest that the Verizon version of the HTC One is on its way, running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
An XDA-Developers forum user who works for Sprint had posted the news but now the original thread has been deleted from the forums. However, Android Authority had taken a screen shot of the thread before it was taken off.
The thread said "HTC rep is at my location showing off the one. Asked about the 4.2.2 update and he pulled out a verizon one running it with notification controls in tow......Looks like Verizon's will launch with 4.2.2 with us getting the update near there as well."
This is not the first time that rumors of HTC One coming to U.S. carrier Verizon are emerging online. A previous report cites a tweet from @LlabTooFeR, which says "Good news for Verizon users, your carrier gonna sale HTC One in near future."
The HTC One on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean; however, if the rumor from Android Authority is to be believed then the Verizon version of the handset may come running on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Verizon has a special announcement event on May 22. Many market observers previously believed that the Lumia 928 will land on the carrier. However, with the Lumia 928 already announced, its highly likely that the HTC One may make its appearance at the event.
The HTC One packs in top-end features and is one of the most-popular Android smartphones for 2013 till now. Verizon customers will be happy enough to find another top-end smartphone in the carrier's portfolio; however, we have to wait till the carrier takes the wraps off the handset.
