Apple's latest iPhone ad is very reminiscent of Apple's old silhouette iPod ads. The ad is called "Music Every Day" and focuses on how iPhone users enjoy music on their iPhones by themselves or with friends. The ad also shows an iPhone user wearing a watch-like device that is leaving some people to question if Apple is giving us a glimpse or hint of its upcoming iWatch?
The Internet has been buzzing ever since reports claimed Apple has been hard at work on a new wrist-mounted device that will run iOS and seamlessly interact with Apple's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It's unclear if the iWatch will be running Apple's next major update to iOS - iOS 7. iOS 7 is expected to be a huge update to iOS and will supposedly feature a new user interface along with exciting new features. There have been rumors that Apple could release the iWatch later this year. If true, iOS 7 seems to be the perfect candidate to run on the iWatch. Apple will be unveiling iOS 7 to the world at WWDC 2013, but Apple fans shouldn't get their hopes up of seeing the upcoming iPhone 5S or iWatch at the conference since Apple has not released or shown off any new iOS devices at its last two WWDC conferences. The event has turned into a preview for the next major version of iOS with Apple releasing the software, and new hardware in the fall. Apple's "iWatch" will also be competing with rumored smartwatches from other tech giants like Google, Microsoft, and Samsung in the new wearable tech category. So get ready for a new smartwatch battle to heat up in the future.
Apple's "Music Every Day" ad shows a mysterious wrist mounted device that has been noticed by Apple fans leading them to question whether the device in the ad is the much-hyped iWatch, or an elaborate practical joke from the folks in Cupertino. You can see the ad below and at about 29 seconds into the video the watch-like device can be seen.
While many Apple fans would love to believe that the device is the iWatch, there are a few reasons why not to get your hopes up. Apple is one of the biggest companies who does a great job of keeping its products under wraps before it actually announces the device. Sure, we have seen some leaked images of Apple devices, but it's highly unlikely that Apple would ever place an unannounced and highly anticipated product in a commercial before it actually announces the device.
While we can't see the screen of the gadget in the ad, we can see its shape and size. The device looks very similar to Apple's sixth generation iPod nano. Apple no longer sells this particular iPod nano, but it was a very popular iPod that many third party manufacturers created accessories for, allowing users to wear the iPod nano as a watch.
Apple will unveil the iWatch to the world when it's ready to and not a moment sooner, especially in one of its own ads.
