Tesla Confirms Model 3 Performance Is Outmatched By Model S, New Spy Shots Leaked

The Tesla Model 3 can go from 0 to 60 in just 5.6 seconds. This is what a new leak courtesy of the Tesla Model 3 Owners Club is claiming. The impressive figure just gives car enthusiasts and buyers more reason to salivate over the much-hyped Model 3. It is, however, still not enough to beat that of the Tesla Model S.

The Tesla Model 3 is described as a more affordable version of the Model S. The latter is Tesla's luxury electric car which sells for a base price of $69,500. The Model 3, meanwhile, comes with the same luxury feel as the Model S but is a lot cheaper. As Engadget noted, the new leak shows that the Model 3 will not be as quick as the Model S. Tesla itself has already said that the Model 3 will not give the best driving experience so this should not come as a surprise. The leak does, however, indicate that it will be better than another popular electric car, the Chevy Bolt, which goes from 0 to 60 in 6.5 seconds.

In related Tesla Model 3 news, a new set of spy shots has leaked online. BGR got hold of the new photos of the Tesla Model 3 and one of them showed something never seen in previous spy shots. The white Model 3 prototype or candidate sports a roof rack. The shot also managed to get a clearer view of the car's front and it shows that the design was altered to some extent.

The Tesla Model 3 is scheduled for production starting in July. As the release date comes closer and closer, expect more spy shots of the highly anticipated Model 3 to keep coming. There are already a number of analysts who say that the company will not be able to fulfill its promise regarding the electric car's availability and price. Tesla said that the Model 3 will have a base price of $35,000 but many are expecting it to be worth much more than that after the upgrades.
