'Steven Universe' Season 5 Two-Hour Opening Special To See Steven Go Into Trial Before The Diamonds

Steven's search for his true destiny might finally be answered as the hit cartoon series "Steven Universe" Season 5 opens with a two-hour special. A promo for the bundle of episodes was released earlier on social media and fans were able to see the boy wonder facing the Diamonds. More scenes were teased, and as fans expected, the opener will be an exciting adventure for Steven and Lars in Homeworld.

"Steven Universe" just wrapped up its fourth season, but its new installment is already around the corner. The previous chapter of Steven's adventure closed with his heroic act to save his human and Gem friends from Aquamarine and Topaz. The new installment will open with Steven being transported by the space creatures to Homeworld and he is about to face the consequences of his mother Rose Quartz' betrayal to her kind.

It can be recalled that Steven courageously declared from the Season 4 finale that he is Rose Quartz. This then dictates the difficulties that Steven is about to face on behalf of his mother, and the Diamonds make it clear that his fate in their world is not as favorable as his time on Earth. Albeit the danger, Steven proclaims that he is ready for the challenges he is about to face in Homeworld.

Elsewhere in the promo, Steven was seen telling Lars that it is okay to be afraid. Lars becomes Steven's hope to be freed from the hands of the Diamonds, but will Lars be able to conquer his fears just in time to save Steven?

There are fan theories regarding the two-hour special of "Steven Universe" Season 5, and many believe that the Gems will go on an escape mission. Their search for transportation and their journey back to the Homeworld is expected to be featured in the special episode.

With the new installment almost hitting the small screen, many fans are excited to see a more action-packed bundle of episodes. "Steven Universe" Season 5, which is rumored to be the final installment of the cartoon series, will kick off with its first four episodes on Monday, May 29, at 7 p.m. on Cartoon Network.
