"Poldark" Season 3 already kicked off with two episodes already aired on BBC One, but the paternity of Elizabeth's baby remains to be in question. Following this, Heida Reed (Elizabeth) dropped a hint that made fans more convinced that Ross Poldark is indeed the father of her character's baby.
Actress Heida Reed who plays Elizabeth in "Poldark" Season 3 recently shared some of her thoughts about the real identity of her baby's father. In a previous interview, Reed said that Ross and Demelza's fans might hate her even more as revelations go down in the current season. This follows her confession that Elizabeth "does not have a clear feeling" about her baby's paternity since the truth is terrifying for her. She said that the truth might put her character's life at risk, which fans took as a hint that George Warleggan is not the father of their supposed baby.
Although it was not teased that Ross Poldark might be the real father of Elizabeth's baby, many viewers are guessing that he is. This follows the previous rumors that Ross and Elizabeth will be sharing a baby in Season 3 after the "rape scene" that happened between them in the second installment.
Season 3's premiere episode featured Elizabeth giving birth to a son. She has however forced her labor earlier than her supposed due date. Talks then claim that this scene can be an evidence that Ross is the real father of baby as her real due matches with the date of her rape.
While there are countless speculations about the paternity of Elizabeth's baby, it might be too early to tell that Ross is indeed the father. "Poldark's" creator, Debbie Horsfield, talked about the mystery in April. Horsfield said that the installment will revolve around the plot of discovering the truth about Elizabeth's baby and it might be towards the end of the season that fans will get a clear answer.
With the more heated episodes to come, Heida Reed revealed that she received a heft of backlash after the "rape scene" in "Poldark" Season 2. Reed told in an interview that it is hard for her to go through "rude" comments coming from the dedicated fans of the Poldark couple. She also said that she is already expecting more criticisms as the season delves into the biggest mystery of the current arc.
"Poldark" Season 3 though has more exciting points to feature other than the "baby mystery." Dr. Dwight Enys' condition will be discovered as Ross Poldark goes on a trip to save him. Ross' relationship with wife Demelza will also be touched as well as his bout with Geoge Warleggan. "Poldark" Season 3 airs every Sunday on BBC One.
