Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 update brings along various problems

Recently, Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 owners received a software update, which is supposed to bring several enhancements to the handset including the highly-touted Multi-Window View feature. However, it seems that the software update is also bringing along various problems.

Along with the Multi-View feature, the software update also brings better hotspot functionality, access to the home screen without unlocking the smartphone when a Bluetooth headset is connected, Auto Share Shot in S Beam, Samsung Smart Switch support to aid file transfer and more.

However, Verizon customers are upset because the carrier has not only been late in bringing the highly-awaited Multi-Windows feature to its Samsung Galaxy S3 subscribers, but also, the software update is plagued with bugs.

Despite bringing along various enhancements, a Droid-Life report says that customers are complaining of various issues caused after downloading the software update. Many users are complaining that they are having issues connecting to LTE and find their handsets either stuck on 3G or without a signal. Users are also complaining that after connecting to 4G LTE, the signal drops back to 3G.

"A good friend of mine is having a post-update issue with hers where it's staying connected to both WiFI and LTE. She sent me a screenshot and sure enough, the 4G LTE icon never disappears after she connects to WiFi like it's supposed to," Droid-Life cited an upset user.

Another user who downloaded the software update complained "I am experiencing just about ALL of these issues (except for the Caller Name ID). My battery life is SIGNIFICANTLY less, and my 4G LTE connection is unstable. I hope they are working fast & furious on a fix for this! I'm always excited for upgrades, but always nervous, as well, for this very reason!"

Some users who downloaded the software update are also complaining of slow data speeds and poor battery life. The software update brings a new bloatware app called Caller Name ID. The app can be used for free as a trial, but you'll be automatically charged $2.99 per month after the trial ends.

We believe it's only a matter of time before Verizon brings out a fix to address the problems faced by its Samsung Galaxy S3 owners.

Are you a Verizon customer? Are you happy with its services? Are you facing any problem with the Samsung Galaxy S3 update? Let us know.
