Apple is widely speculated to release its next-gen smartphone, dubbed the iPhone 6, in the coming months. While the release date of the impending Apple smartphone is still circumspect (and the release date range from either June or September), the rumor mills cannot stop speculating about the features the iPhone 6 will tout.
Even as speculations of innovative features like a fingerprint sensor, 3D camera etc. on the iPhone 6 are doing the rounds, we take a look on the other side - features that consumers would not want in the iPhone 6.
Here are the top five features (in our opinion) that iFans would not want to see in the impending iPhone 6.
1. No Cheap Plastic
Apple has always been synonymous with its products having sophisticated designs and raising the bar. Rumors of a cheaper, plastic-touting iPhone 5S has been doing the rounds. Consumers would hope that Apple would not take the Samsung route for the iPhone 6 and stick to the anodized aluminum and top-end quality that has made the company what it is today.
2. Touchless Controls
Opinions will probably be divided over the incorporation of this feature in the iPhone 6. However, given that Samsung Galaxy S4 users have encountered several issues and difficulty with the tricky-to-maneuver gesture control feature, Apple would do well to steer clear of touchless controls for the iPhone 6.
3. Less Battery Life
iPhone users perennially complain that the smartphone is short on battery life. Users who employ the phone for long durations would like to see Apple bump up the battery life. iPhone 6 with a short battery life is not something consumers want to see.
4. Troublesome Siri and Maps
In 2012, when Apple released the iPhone 5, the company was severely criticized for its Maps and Siri fiasco. Consumers would not want to see more troubled apps and features from Apple that are not fully developed and have niggles. A smarter Siri, on the other hand, would be welcomed in the iPhone 6. Imagine if Siri could scan the emails in your inbox and sort the junk from important mails.
5. Slow Processor
If Apple will launch a next-gen smartphone, consumers would surely like to see a new and faster processor. A slow processor or the same A6 one on the iPhone 5 or the iPad 4's A6X would dampen the enthusiasm of the fans as it would not be equipped to deliver the performance required by a power-hungry device that packs in additional features.
Reports suggest that Apple has a new A7 processor in the works, which is likely headed to the iPhone 6, so fans can breathe easy.
