Samsung Galaxy S5 video released asking what consumers want (Video)

Being that the Samsung Galaxy S4 was only just released a little more than a month ago (as of early June 2013), it may baffle many that we're already seeing, hearing and reading a notable glut of (alleged) information about the next-gen handset known as the Samsung Galaxy S5. But when it comes to mobile and especially to such a wildly prolific company as Samsung, there's no sense to stopping with the releases.

The questions therefore remain: What will the Samsung Galaxy S5 look like and what specs/features will it integrate?

Taking the questions to the realm of crowd sourcing is self-proclaimed "tech enthusiast, writer, artist and monotheistic evolutionist" Bob Freking who many may remember from his concept for the Samsung Galaxy S4 that he crowd-sourced in selfsame fashion after releasing a video in October 2012 asking any and all to contribute what they wanted to see in the (at that point) forthcoming handset.

Freking received nearly 50,000 views for his video requesting ideas from the general public on what a Galaxy S4 concept should look like, and plenty of comments came his way, as well. Apparently, Samsung thought little (if anything) about the concept, however, and now Freking seems to be in somewhat of a state of revenge by posting a new video asking everyone who wants to take part to spark ideas for what they'd like to see in a Samsung Galaxy S5 concept.

Freking's disappointment in and downright ire as regards the S4 are rather palpable in the video invitation he's released, as it includes such incendiary statements as, "I think Samsung really screwed up with the real S4's design."

This after thanking "everyone" for the "success" of his/their Galaxy S4 concept.

"Your turn again," Freking says in the video, adding that, as the problems with the real S4 design include everything from not integrating an aluminum body to employing far too many "gimmicks" (such as Touchwiz, which gets specially singled out), it's time for Freking fanatics to now tell him how to design the S5 concept, perhaps integrating some of those ideas Samsung "missed out" on when it came to the phone's predecessor.

"What is it that you want to see?" Freking asks at the end of the video that has already received more than 3,000 views since being uploaded at the end of last week.

"Just give us a better quality lens, one that will make real cameras (Not SLRs obviously) obsolete," samal90 posts. "While you're at it, better NFC features and foldable screen."

The commenter is not alone in looking for a better camera.

"I [would] love to see 3d cameras/ front facing speakers/ 15+mp on the back/ and 10+mp for the front 4+gb ram more things to know what my eyes are doing with the camera understand more commands," Matthew Gerlach posts in a rather idiomatic comment.

Some commenters put it all on the line, such as MrFlamencolee, who says, "4GB ram, 128GB rom, micoSD, 8 core Exynos, dual 5 inch, 1080p screens in a folding wallet format, 20 mp rear cam, 5mp front cam, all existing sensors +thermometer. Perhaps 1 amoled and 1 eInk display or both amoled. Built in blood pressure measurement device."

There are then those inevitable S5 detractors who feel the whole idea is pointless.

"The best galaxy ever= S2, We are bored of that bad quality materials used on s3,s4 (And very flexible btw), we need PREMIUM QUALITY MATERIALS, we need touch and feel the strong sensation, We ARE BORED of TouchWiz, that Iphone-ish theme bores me a lot, we want a cool theme, original, with a litte touch of simplicity," Acunya posts.

For those who are interested in taking part in the Freking Galaxy S5 concept design, you can post via the video below. In the meantime, you can check out the Galaxy S4 concept design video of Freking's which, since last November, has already received more than 800,000 views and can be seen right here.
