Sony has officially confirmed via tweet that the latest 3D Creator app will arrive on the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. The 3D Creator app was introduced at the recent IFA conference.
Sony has confirmed information through its Twitter account that another Sony smartphone is soon going to get 3D Creator app. The smartphone is Sony Xperia XZ Premium that is the flagship from the Sony. The 3D Creator app will be released as part of the Android 8.0 Oreo update. To recall, the Xperia XZ Premium has originally released with Android 7.1 Nougat OS, as reported by Android Headlines.
The 3D scanning feature is part of a new 3D Creator app which Sony has developed - it's not actually part of the camera app on its smartphones. This feature allows users to scan things like a person's head, a plate of food or really anything. It's still in its early stages but Sony claims that there are some real-world use-cases for this feature, and it's working hard to make it available to the audience.
Sony is making the app accessible to its users so that they can scan themselves and put themselves into video games like Grand Theft Auto V. And in the very near future, users will be able to do it with other games too. The company is also reportedly working to make these scans printable. So you could 3D scan your head and print it in 3D, as reported by GSM Arena.
Coming to the cameras, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium equipped with a 19-megapixel Motion Eye camera with a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS memory stacked sensors and as Sony claims that they are capable of shooting videos at 960 frames per second. Camera features include predictive hybrid autofocus and predictive capture, a 25mm f/2.0 lens, and 1.22-micron pixel sensor.
However, the front camera of Xperia XZ Premium has a 13-megapixel 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS sensor, which is supported by a 22mm wide-angle f/2.0 lens. The Sony also claims that the camera has been optimized with its SteadyShot technology that provides 5-axis stabilization.
