AT&T's Nokia Lumia 820 has started receiving the 1314 software update, which is expected to bring several enhancements and bug fixes to the handset.
The Finnish company had released the Lumia 820 along with the Lumia 920 in Nov. 2012. The handset is amongst the first Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphones launched and succeeds the Nokia Lumia 800.
Just like the Lumia 920, the Lumia 820 is only available on AT&T in the U.S. The mid-range handset packs in impressive specifications in its category and has appealed to many smartphone customers looking out for an alternative to Android and iOS.
Although Nokia released the 1314 software update to Lumia 920 a while ago, the Lumia 820 is still running on software version 1308. However, on June 25, Nokia confirmed via a tweet that software version 1314 is now available for the Lumia 820.
Nokia Lumia 820 support page says, "Latest software release for Nokia Lumia 820 is SW 1232.5962.1314.0001. The availability of this update may depend on your network service provider. To check for updates, on your phone, tap Settings -> phone update."
Following the software update, users will find improved automatic display brightness adjustment and improvements to connectivity issues in certain network conditions. The firmware will also bring performance and stability improvements to the Lumia 820.
The 1314 software release will also include fix for intermittent screen blanking during a call.
When Nokia rolled out the 1308 software update to its AT&T Lumia 920, the firmware was supposed to bring several enhancements and fixes. However, the software release didn't go as planned and instead, introduced various problems.
Nokia Lumia 820 users will hope that the latest software release goes off smoothly without causing any issues to their handset.
