As the Nokia Zoom event on July 11 nears, rumors surrounding the impending Nokia EOS are gathering momentum. While a recent report suggested that the smartphone will not be called Lumia 1020 but Lumia 909, latest reports reveal that the new Nokia handset will be called Lumia 1020 and will retail for $602.
The Lumia 1020, which is expected to tout a whopping 41-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, is expected to retail in three colors: black, white and yellow. The Nokia smartphone has been in the news for sometime now and the alleged AT&T bound model has the codename "Elvis."
The pricing of the Lumia 1020 or EOS was revealed courtesy of WPCentral, who received a screenshot of the Microsoft Store listing the smartphone.
"A tipster sent us a screenshot of upcoming inventory for their Microsoft Store. What's interesting is that the device is called the Lumia 1020 (and not the 909). It will retail for $602 and come in your choice of yellow, black or white," reports WPCentral.
The screenshot reveals a date - July 22 - which is visible on the bottom left and per WPCentral's trusted "insider," this is the date when the shipment is received. Moreover, the shipment date is usually a few days before the device becomes available to consumers. Therefore, a strong possibility exists that the Lumia 1020 may hit the shelves two weeks after the July 11 announcement.
Previous rumors pertaining to the EOS have pointed to a polycarbonate body for the new Nokia smartphone which will boast a whopping 41-megapixel camera. The WP8-powered smartphone is also expected to tout an OLED screen with 768 x 1280 pixels resolution and will likely be 1mm thinner than the Lumia 920.
With the Nokia event knocking at our doorstep, we'll soon know by what name the EOS is finally known - Lumia 1020 or Lumia 909, unless the Finnish company has more than one smartphone up its sleeve!
