Come May 14, Finland-based Nokia seems to be gearing up to unleash a trio of smartphones consumers' way. Speculations have been rife that Nokia will release the Lumia 925 or Catwalk along with the Lumia 928 at its event in London, and now reports suggest that the company is ready to take the wraps off its heavily-rumored EOS as well.
To refresh your memory, the Nokia EOS Lumia is anticipated to tout a 41-megapixel camera like the Nokia 808 PureView; however, unlike the latter, the EOS will run on Windows Phone 8 and not Symbian.
Now reports suggest that the Nokia EOS will make an appearance alongside the Verizon-bound Lumia 928 and the Nokia Catwalk on May 14.
"Turns out that we might see the Nokia EOS Lumia monster with the 808 PureView sensor announced together with the slim Catwalk version of the 920 destined for AT&T," reports PhoneArena.
"Nokia is to host a press conference in London on May 14 and is expected to unveil a new high-end Windows Phone 8-based Lumia phone, which is likely to come with a 41-mega pixel camera, according to market watchers," reports Digitimes.
The Nokia EOS or RM-877 is rumored to sport an aluminum body and an HD display with 1280 x 768 resolution. The device will likely be waterproof and is believed to be headed to U.S. carrier AT&T. The EOS could well be the first Windows Phone 8 smartphone to feature a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and possibly 2GB of RAM. If rumors are to be believed, then the Nokia EOS may have an FM transmitter, expandable Micro SD slot and possibly a Micro HDMI out port.
With Nokia allegedly prepping to launch a trinity of WP8-powered smartphones mid-May, it will be interesting to see how the devices fare against the likes of Samsung's Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
