There is a new leak about the specs of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and unlike previous rumors, this information comes straight from Samsung.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is one of the most highly anticipated smartphones to hit the market this year. It will replace the Galaxy Note 2 as the new flagship phablet in Samsung's arsenal. The device is expected to be officially announced by Samsung at IFA on September 6, according to the latest rumors. Samsung has previously used the big event to announce the original Note, the Note 2, and now it will likely keep up its tradition and announce it at the conference.
The Galaxy Note 3 has been leaking with rumors, new details and specs on an almost daily basis. The source has always been a third party, but today it seems that Samsung itself has revealed new details about its upcoming Galaxy Note 3. Japanese site RBMen was the first to spot and report on the information posted on Samsung's UAPROF.
The UAPROF lists two Galaxy Note 3 model numbers, SM-N900A and SM-N900T. The file also confirms some of the phablet's specs. The device will reportedly feature a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The SM-900A is expected to be headed to the U.S. and a high-end 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor will power the smartphone. This is the same processor Sony is using in its Galaxy Note 3 competitor, the 6.4-inch Xperia Ultra phablet. The SM-N900T isn't detailed, but is expected to use an octa-core processor.
We recently reported that the Note 3 would become the first smartphone to ship with 3GB of RAM. Samsung's UAPROF confirms that the device will include 3GB of RAM when it ships. It will run the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and include the Samsung TouchWiz Nature UX overlay. The listing also reveals the phablet will pack in a 13-megapixel camera with "optical hand shake correction."
In other words, it looks like we got the specs straight from the source. Whether this was accidental or intentional, it's great to get a clearer picture of what to expect with the Galaxy Note 3.
