The HTC One has been long-awaited by Verizon customers and the carrier has finally launched a sign-up page.
The Taiwanese company unveiled the HTC One in February this year at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona. The handset was meant to launch in mid-March but the release date was pushed back to April due to supply issues surrounding the components of its camera.
The HTC One is available on nearly all major U.S. carriers but the Verizon version of the smartphone is yet to hit the shelves. Previous rumors indicated that the handset will launch on Verizon on Aug. 1, but the date has lapsed and the HTC One is still not appeared on the carrier. After various other dates speculated, new rumors now indicate that Verizon will release the much-awaited HTC One on Aug.29.
The HTC One is one of the most popular Android smartphones around. The new flagship HTC smartphone gives stiff competition to other Android smartphones in its category including the Samsung Galaxy S4, while its design received high praise.
The HTC One packs in top-notch features needed in a high-end smartphone. The handset comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and runs on a Snapdragon 600 processor. Rumors suggest that the Verizon version of the HTC One will feature Android 4.2 Jelly Bean or even the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Speculations also suggest that HTC is planning to launch a refreshed version of the handset, which will sport a faster Snapdragon 800 processor.
A faster processor and the latest operating system may give Verizon an edge over other carriers who are offering the HTC One. However, it's been a few months since the HTC One has been available from other carriers and other much-awaited handsets like the iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are expected to launch soon, which may shift customers' interest to new devices.
The sign-up page for the HTC One on Verizon will give you all information regarding pricing, pre-order, availability and more once the handset gets closer to launch. If you are looking to buy the Verizon version of the HTC One, sign up to get more details pertaining to the upcoming handset.
Aug. 29 is just a few weeks away and we will have to wait a bit long before Verizon officially releases the HTC One.
