Google recently launched a refreshed version of the Nexus 7 and the new tablet is now up for sale in the Google Play store in Canada.
Google launched the new version of the Nexus 7 on July 24 along with the much-awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. The tablet has already made its way to various retailers and Canadian customers can now also procure the tablet as well, straight from the Google Play store (Canada).
"Well, if you live in Canada, you don't have to worry about dragging yourself to the closest Future Shop, because you can now buy the new Nexus 7 directly from the Google Play Store. Even better, Google Play is offering free shipping for a limited time. The 16GB Nexus 7 will set you back CA$229, while the 32GB model will cost CA$269. As yet, there is not option for the LTE model," reports Phone Arena.
Google launched the original Nexus 7 in April 2012 and the tablet was the first to tout the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system straight out of the box. Google introduced the refreshed Nexus 7 on July 24 this year and it was made available in the U.S. July 26 onwards. Now the tablet is finally making its way to other destinations such as Canada. The Nexus 7 is the first device to come pre-loaded with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.
The refreshed Nexus 7 is definitely a big step up from the original Nexus 7. A 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor powers the tablet, while 2GB of RAM will keep things running smoothly. The new Nexus 7 sports a 7-inch WUXGA screen with 1200 x 1920 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 323 pixels per inch (ppi). The latest tablet also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The device includes stereo speakers, built-in inductive Qi wireless charging, and a SlimPort (via micro-USB connector) capable of full HD output to an external display. The new Nexus 7 sold in Canada has the same specifications as found in the U.S.
Nexus devices such as the Nexus 7 usually fly off the shelves and it shouldn't come as a surprise if the new tablet repeats the performance of its predecessor and is sold out from the Canadian Google Play store soon. Interested buyers in Canada can order the new Nexus 7 here.
