Marvel's Spider-Man 2 got a score of 91 from Metacritic, leading to a tie with Spyro: Year of the Dragon and Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, before it even releases.
Insomniac Games Hits Success With Spider-Man 2
With the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game release, Insomniac Games hits another milestone by adding a new highest-rated game under its portfolio. While the first Spider-Man title quickly rose to fame, the game did not manage to cross the 90 score mark on Metacritic.
The game developer company has been releasing various content to boost the hype with the Spider-Man 2's release on October 20. Recently, PlayStation unveiled the launch trailer for the game which featured impressive graphics and hinted at some parts of the gameplay. Moreover, it also hinted at some of the iconic villains from the Spider-Man franchise such as Kraven, Venom, Sandman, and Lizard.
The Spider-Man 2 game is set nine months after the events of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The gameplay will revolve around how Miles, Mary Jane, Harry, and Peter will work together as they face the challenges and threats brought by the villains.
Spider-Man 2 Heads to PS5
Within the game, both Miles and Peter will face the challenges brought by their symbiote powers. Players are expected to witness how both characters will develop inside and outside the mask of Spider-Man. Hence, players can easily swap from either Spider-Man as they explore the city of New York.
The Spider-Man 2 will be released on PS5 on October 20. The game is now available for pre-orders with the Standard Edition costing $69.99. Meanwhile, the Digital Deluxe Edition, which offers unique suits for the Spider-Men, additional items, and skills points, is priced at $79.99.
