Tesla May Sue Cybertruck Owners for $50K for Reselling Too Soon

Add to its existing problems, Cybertruck owners would be unable to part with their cyberpunk-esque cars soon for a possible lawsuit.

The recently published Tesla motor vehicle agreement states that the company can charge owners up to $50,000 if they ever sell the car within a year of purchase.

Unless there's express permission from the automaker, caught resellers can be fined and banned from buying other Tesla vehicles in the future.

For selected customers, Tesla's Cybertruck is scheduled to hit the streets on Nov. 30. Mass production will not start until 2024.

Where to Buy Tesla Cybertruck?

If you are still considering buying a Cybertruck, there are still some ways to reserve a seat with Tesla's angular EV giant.

Tesla enthusiasts in the United States can still place a pre-order for the car on the automaker's official website.

Future Cybertruck owners are given the option to select the configuration and options that best suit the would-be owners. The pre-order is sealed with a $100 deposit payment to the site.

A confirmation email for the purchase will be sent along with a reference number to track the pre-order status. This can be done by accessing the "Manage Reservations" page on Tesla's site.

Tesla Cybertruck Specs, Features, and Issues

Ahead of its scheduled release, specs for the Cybertruck have been leaked online.

The electric vehicle is alleged to have 72.8 inches of bed length with a 51-inch width. The truck can pull 11,000 pounds in total.

Its most interesting feature is the F-150 Lightning outlet that can power electronic devices, other EVs, or even a house. The Cybertruck runs on 220 volts as the source of power.

Further confirmation of the vehicle's features will be out once the pickup truck opens to the public.
