The "Mission: Impossible" franchise featuring the first seven films is now available to stream on Paramount+.
Meanwhile, "Mission: Impossible 8" will have its theatrical release on May 23, 2025.
Paramount+ Welcomes 'Mission: Impossible' Franchise
Hollywood actor Tom Cruise is best known for his long-time portrayal of Ethan Hunt as a senior agent in the Impossible Mission Force (IMF). The franchise started in 1996 and is still going strong with eight installments coming next year.
Before the "Super Bowl LVIII" started, Paramount+ teased an advertisement featuring the seven films that are currently available on the platform.
"It's hard to put all 7 films into 90 seconds, but we certainly had fun trying," Cruise shared on an X post.
Last month, "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning" arrived on Paramount+, completing the collection from the franchise so far. Notably, "Part One" was omitted from the original title after the sequel was delayed for over a year.
'Mission: Impossible 8' Update
Originally intended to be "Dead Reckoning Part Two", the untitled "Mission: Impossible 8" has been mostly filmed already. However, the production delay was caused by the reeling effect of the pandemic.
Regardless, it will still continue the story based on the events of "Dead Reckoning." Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie promised that the next film would be another high-quality spy thriller.
Last year, "Dead Reckoning" had a disappointing box office revenue despite receiving positive reviews. The movie only made $568 million in contrast to the budget of $300 million.
According to the report, the date of the release was part of the reason for its performance. The film was sandwiched between the release of "Barbie," "Oppenheimer," "The Flash," and "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny."
