Disney's "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" season 2 has been confirmed, and fans of both the book and the show are excited to see what comes next for the trio. Since it will be based on the second book, you can expect to meet new characters from inside and outside the camp, and here are some of them.
(Warning: Spoilers Ahead)
1. Tyson
Tyson will be introduced early on in the second season of the series, considering that Percy first meets him in school before he goes back to camp. Readers discovered later on that not only was Tyson a Cyclops, but he was also Percy's half-brother. Despite being a "monster," the young mythical creature has a sweet disposition.
2. Stoll Brothers
Although both were already in the camp in "The Lightning Thief," they weren't really introduced until "The Sea of Monsters." In the second book, Travis and Connor were said to be identical-looking, but they were actually not twins. Travis was older than Connor, but both were good at causing mischief in camp.
3. Silena Beauregard
Silena is one of Aphrodite's children, so it's expected that she is pretty and somewhat prissy as well. However, Percy sees her as one of the "nicer Aphrodite girls," especially since she has the capacity for compassion and acceptance. She will also be the one to teach Percy how to ride a pegasus, which plays an important part throughout the series.
4. Charles Beckendorf
A head counselor like Silena, Charles Beckendorf is a son of Hephaestus and will also play an important role in the battle to come with Kronos. He will be the one to show Tyson the ropes in metalwork after everyone else was mean to the Cyclops. Plus, he is the boyfriend of the beautiful Silena Beauregard.
5. Circe
If you've been reading stories from Greek mythology, then you probably already know about Circe. She is a very powerful sorceress, considering that she was the daughter of the goddess of magic, Hecate. Percy and the gang will come across her on an island where she runs a salon where she turns men into guinea pigs.
6. Edward Teach
He is mostly known for his nickname, Blackbeard, and has been mentioned in most pirate-themed shows and movies that have been released. The pirate ended up on Circe's island, so he and his crew were turned into guinea pigs as well. He might just be a pretty minor character, but it's kind of cool to see a historical figure show up in the series.
7. Thalia Grace
This one is a bit weird since she won't actually show up until the end of the second book, but she does appear to Percy in his dream. Thalia is also a forbidden child since she was the daughter of Zeus. If the show continues on up to "Heroes of Olympus," we would even meet her brother, Jason Grace, in a different camp.
8. Charybdis and Scylla
Both monsters are also known in mythology as somewhat the guardians of a strait where sailors tend to pass. Both were mentioned in "The Odyssey," which is the book that "The Sea of Monsters" was loosely based on. Charybdis appeared in the film adaptation, so it would be interesting to see how Disney would recreate the giant water-dwelling monster.
