Apple to Offer Viewing of Own Spatial Videos for Vision Pro Demos

A code for iOS 17.5 beta 2 revealed that Apple will soon allow U.S. customers to watch their own content during a Vision Pro demo session.

Vision Pro customers are encouraged to book a demo session at one of the Apple Retail Stores to experience the headset for 30 minutes.

Vision Pro Demo to Allow Personal Spatial Video Experience

The recently released iOS 17.5 beta 2 code for developers teased a new feature that will allow customers to transfer their own Spatial Videos during a Vision Pro demo session in an Apple Retail Store. 9to5Mac detailed that the VPG Photos Retail Experience will be used to transfer files from an iPhone to a Vision Pro.

The system will create an HTTP file transfer service with SPAKE2 encryption which will give an opportunity to customers to try their own Spatial Video footage by transferring them to a demo unit through an App Clip code scan.

"Your items will be deleted off of Apple Vision Pro at the end of the demo and will not be accessible to anyone else. You will have the option to delete your items on Apple Vision Pro at any time during the demo," Apple wrote.

Apple will also limit the number of videos that can be transferred to avoid longer waiting times for the process. The company will also encourage customers to select shorter videos for a quick transfer.

Rumors for iPhone 16 Includes Spatial Video Recording

Currently, Spatial Video is an exclusive feature for the iPhone 15 Pro and the Vision Pro itself. The iPhone 15 Pro starts at $999, while the mixed-reality headset retails at $3,4999.

However, rumors are suggesting that iPhone 16 models will get vertically aligned cameras that are designed for spatial video recording. Reports showed that the next-generation iPhone is being tested for two different camera bump designs.

Regardless, the iPhone 16 release is still far from now but the Vision Pro is slated to reach more countries by the end of the year. The iOS 17.5 update is expected to be released publicly by next month.
