Jack Black teased fans by subtly confirming his role in the upcoming "Minecraft" movie by posting a snippet of him singing the "Double Rainbow" song.
Last month, reports showed that Black was tapped to play a character in the live-action version of the popular game franchise.
Black Teases Minecraft Fans With a Song
In a short Instagram post, Black shared a snippet of a rainbow. In the background, viewers can hear him sing the "Double Rainbow" song. Moreover, the actor also took the liberty to give fans a peak at his trailer with the name "Steve" outside, hinting at his character's name.
"Oh my god, what does it mean?" Black Sings, mimicking Paul Vasquez, also known as the Double Rainbow Guy backed in 2010. The actor also shared a meaningful grin after his short tour before cutting the video.
Aside from Black, actors such as Jason Momoa and Matt Berry are also reportedly in the movie. Emma Myers from "Wednesday" and Danielle Brooks from "The Color Purple" are also joining the cast.
Live-action 'Minecraft' is in Production
The "Minecraft" live-action film was supposed to start its filming in August 2023. However, the filming was delayed as the production tweaked some final touches before proceeding to shoot the movie.
Aside from Black's confirmation that the film finally happening, details of the production have been kept secret for a while already. The "Minecraft" live-action will follow the Ender Dragon on his journey as he stumbles on various adventures that will require him to have the Overworld.
The sure thing is that the film is directed by Jared Hess and co-produced by Legendary, Vertigo, and Mojang. The "Minecraft" movie is expected to be released on April 4, 2025 in the U.S.
