Minecraft Realms Introduces Realm Stories

Minecraft first introduced its subscription services called Realms and Realms Plus in 2013. The private server allows gamers to play with their friends exclusively.

The latest update heavily focused on enhancing communication between members, events, planning, and more. The Realm Stories is a social lobby for all realm participants wherein players can interact with each other.

The social hub also features multiple tabs like the Story Feed for live event updates, the Timeline tab that shows when players are in-game, and the Member tab which shows all the members of the servers and their online status.

The Realm Stories also has a Comment thread that allows gamers to communicate with other online players or leave messages to let others know what the base needs.

Minecraft Realms Debuts Other Major Updates

The private server subscription also increased the render distance by eight chunks on most platforms. The update was designed to help players who are setting up a meeting zone or when they are having difficulty finding a location.

Players can now see farther distances, allowing them to respond quickly if there are mob attacks. Secret areas are also expected to show up as the map gets clearer compared to before.

The update also offers access to a new set of Character Creator packs. Gamers will receive a new pack each month and the unlocked cosmetics are all permanently owned. However, access to packs requires an additional subscription to Minecraft Marketplace Pass.
