YouTuber Shots Firework at Lamborghini in California

Choi's YouTube channel is known for uploading videos of "the greatest car shenanigans" and has 924,000 subscribers. The federal authorities are investigating his video titled "Destroying a Lamborghini With Fireworks."

While the video is no longer available on the platform, the content showed two women in a helicopter. Both of them have repeatedly shot fireworks at a speeding sports car after allegedly pressing a "fire missiles" button.

According to law enforcement officials, the video might have been filmed on the El Mirage Dry Lakebed in San Bernardino County. The video was uploaded to his channel nearly a year ago.

YouTuber Faces Up to 10 Years Imprisonment Once Found Guilty

Choi was arrested on a federal criminal complaint for his YouTube video. If convicted, he would face a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison.

Within the uploaded video, a brief scene showed behind-the-scenes footage. The authorities alleged that the YouTuber had a significant participation in coordinating the shoot and directing the video. Choi also thanked the camera company for their agreement with his ideas.

The officials believe that the YouTuber purchased fireworks from Nevada since they are illegal in California. Federal authorities also alleged that he did not obtain a permit to shoot using a helicopter and fireworks.

Last June 6, Choi made his first District Court appearance in the Central District of California. He was released after a $50,000 bond. An arraignment is now scheduled for July 2.
