Netflix's TV series adaptation of Horizon Zero Dawn is reportedly canned following controversies about its supposed showrunner.
First reported by Rolling Stone, the Netflix adaptation of the 2017 PlayStation 4 exclusive is seemingly halted after harassment and toxic workplace allegations were raised against showrunner Steve Blackman.
Blackman, who was also the showrunner for Netflix's "The Umbrella Academy," was accused of having a "long history of toxic, bullying, manipulative, and retaliatory behavior."
This includes fostering a toxic environment by pitting staffers against each other and leaving sexist, homophobic, and transphobic remarks to staff and workers.
With new allegations surfacing, sources told Rolling Stone that Blackman's two other projects with Netflix are being canceled, including plans for the touted Horizon Zero Dawn adaptation.
The streaming service first announced the supposed series adaptation in 2022 during the rise of video game to TV series trends have started becoming popular following the success of "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" and "Arcane."

Any Plans to Revive Netflix's Horizon Zero Dawn Adaptation?
There are currently no indications that Netflix is eager to select another showrunner to handle its Horizon Zero Dawn adaptation.
So far, the only confirmed progress about the show before it reportedly got canceled was when Sony shared that the scriptwriting for the Netflix show started earlier this year.
It also remains uncertain if Netflix will still retain adaptation rights for the show as it seems to redirect focus on other planned video game adaptations with its deal with Sony and PlayStation.
Video Game Fans Reignite FromSoftware Vs Horizon Series 'Dispute'
Amid the controversies and allegations, it did not take long for many video game fans to reignite the long industry "feud" between FromSoftware games and the Horizon series.
As many observers have pointed out, reports of the Horizon Zero Dawn's TV adaptation cancellation came as rumors of Elden Ring being adapted into either a film or a series.
News about the Horizon series has long been the butt-end of the joke as it often drops when major news about FromSoftware games comes days a few days ahead or a bit after.
For one, the Horizon series' second installment, Horizon Forbidden West, was released just a week before Elden Ring took the world by storm.
The same happened when the first game rolled out in late February, just weeks apart from the March release date for the 2019 Game of Year winner Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, another FromSoftware title.
