In the continuing story of Dr Disrespect's downfall, yet another company decided that they wanted nothing to do with the streamer. It seems that the controversy surrounding Guy Beahm has yet to die down seeing as he is still feeling the consequences of his actions.
Rogue Company Removes Dr Disrespect Skin
You may not have heard of Rogue Company since it hasn't had a lot of active players since 2021, but the few hundred who stuck around noticed that the game removed the Dr Disrespect cosmetic last week. Given that it was a paid skin, some weren't too happy about it.
One user complained that the skin cost him $40 and that the studio had no excuses or reasons to revoke access to something the player paid for. He was referring to the Rogue Company's Dallas character for $20 and a bundle of accessories for another $20, as per Kotaku.
The studio posted on X addressing the issue. "Hey Rogue Company, we have disabled Dr. Disrespect content previously available on game. We will provide full Rogue Buck refunds to any impacted account this week."
There's not much to the in-game currency, especially since Rogue Company hasn't been updated in years. Whoever purchased the skin won't be getting their money back, unfortunately, and will have to settle for currency that can buy other cosmetics in the game.
This is yet another consequence of the allegations against the streamer that emerged after a former Twitch employee revealed why he was banned in 2020. In an attempt to do damage control, Beahm made matters worse after admitting that the allegations were true.
In a long post in X, he said that he did have inappropriate conversations with a minor through the now-defunct Twitch whispers. The content creator was planning to meet up with the fan at Twitch-Con, although Beahm said that he never met the young girl.
Several Companies Cut Ties Off with Dr Disrespect
Rogue Company wasn't the first to terminate any ties with the streamer, and they might not be the last. In fact, it's not the first game to drop any feature related to Dr Disrepsect, as NBA 2K24 will replace likeness in the game with a more generic model in season nine.
One of the biggest blows for Guy Beahm was when the video game studio he co-founded decided to cut ties with him as well. The streamer mentioned Midnight Society in his long X post, apologizing for the mess the issue made.
Turtle Beach, a gaming accessory company, also ended its partnership with Dr Disrespect. The brand is a known sponsor of the streamer's videos, and even has a few products that are themed in collaboration with Guy Beahm, as per Game Rant.
The company has since taken down the affiliated products from its site. With the fallout of being outed as someone who messaged minors in an inappropriate manner, the streamer has already decided to step back from content creation for a bit, especially since he has been demonetized on YouTube.
