Apple Intelligence Likely Delayed Until October iOS 18.1 Release: Report

The highly-anticipated Apple Intelligence might not come to Apple device owners until later in October with the release of the iOS and iPadOS 18.1 update, Bloomberg reported.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is delaying its AI-powered system updates by a month to fix glitches and ensure a smooth release for the hyped-up iPhone update.

Gurman earlier predicted correctly several features, including its AI-generated emojis and system improvements, introduced for Apple Intelligence days ahead of its official announcement during the Worldwide Developers Conference last month.

The report also matches up with earlier accounts of Apple rolling the iOS 18 system to software developers four times as part of its beta testing expected to finish by the end of July.

Sources, however, told Bloomberg that Apple already plans to introduce Apple Intelligence to select beta testers as soon as this week, although no confirmed date has been given.

What to Expect for iOS 18's Apple Intelligence Update?

The iOS 18 is expected to be one of Apple's biggest system updates in several years as the tech giant dives fully into the world of generative AI.

Ahead of its release, Apple has been reportedly securing deals with several AI firms, including OpenAI and Meta, to bring their technology into its features, applications, and software.

One notable upgrade is the ChatGPT-powered updates that will be introduced to the Siri voice assistant to let users explore and navigate their devices much better.

This is in addition to entirely new features that would allow users to transcribe audio and video instantly calls thanks to generative AI.
