Instagram to Bring Text, Image Stickers to Posts and Carousels

Additional customization can now be done by users on Instagram's regular posts as well as its carousels. This update allows users to be more creative with their posts, as Instragam previously only allowed still images to be uploaded. In order to add more elements to these posts, users had to opt for third-party apps.

This feature is popularly known for being exclusive to Instagram Stories only.

Instagram announced in its latest blog post that it has expanded what users can do with regular posts and carousels by offering new  tools to further customize content. Users can now add text and image stickers to their photo and carousel posts on the app.

This means users no longer need third-party platforms to do these customizations. This feature was previously exclusively available to Instagram Stories.

Previously, Instagram only allowed users to add filters to their images that change their color. Eventually, the app allowed users to add music to their regular and carousel posts.

New Features for Instagram Stories, Reels

As previously mentioned, Instagram Stories were the only ones that had the customization that allows users to put text and stickers on an image or video. That is no longer the case as this feature now applies to posts and carousels. However, it should be noted that this only applies to posts and carousels that have still photos and not videos.

Meta has likewise announced that new fonts, effects, and text animations for Reels and Stories are part of the update.

Meta's Recent Instagram Updates

Social media has become a big part of the everyday life in recent years, and among the most popular platforms have come from Meta, including Facebook and Instagram. Both platforms have seen numerous updates seen their debut, including Meta's AI integration. The company recently tested its AI chatbots on Instagram, which allows the user to respond to messages on their behalf.

Meta recently introduced a new font that changed how Instagram is presented, but this was met with backlash as the public preferred more of the previous typeface. Instagram posts, particularly for images, have remained almost the same for many years. Only a Notes feature and other minor changes have been added to them since the app was introduced.

Instagram remaids to be one of the most well-known and popular social media apps for content sharing. The new features that apply to static posts and carousels will further improve user experience on the app as Meta continues to develop more features for users to enjoy.
