Metal Gear Solid's Remasters are Still Far from Release
Okamura revealed that remastering Metal Gear Solide games is proving to be quite a challenge after Master Collection Vol. 1. Additionally, both Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 had an HD port released before. Okamura has assured that Konami is working hard to give fans a better experience after the challenges faced by the first collection.
As of press time, which games that are under development for the Master Collection Vol. 2 remain unconfirmed. Okamura has also confirmed that, as of writing, there are no definite timelines for its release date (via ComicBook Gaming).
Konami's Metal Gear Solid Franchise
Since the beginning of the franchise, Hideo Kojima was part of Metal Gear, which launched its first game in 1987. This was eventually followed by the release of the renowned Metal Gear Solid in 1998. Together with Konami, Kojima developed multiple titles under the franchise, including several remakes in between, until his departure in 2015.
Kojima left the franchise after releasing Metal Gear V: The Phantom Pain. Konami then decided to change its genre to a survival game with Metal Gear Survive in 2018, continuing the series without the iconic designer and director, but this title ultimately flopped.
After five years, Konami returned with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 in celebration of the game franchise's 35th anniversary, re-releasing the original games for modern gaming platforms.
With a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 coming soon, Konami is following it up with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, but a lot remains unknown behind its development, as well as when it would be available for global fans.
