iPhone 6 cases already up for pre-order on Amazon, ‘iPhone Air’ moniker sticks

Amid a slew of rumors and leaks regarding the highly-anticipated iPhone 6, an accessory maker has now started taking pre-orders for iPhone 6 cases.

The iPhone 6 is one of the most highly-anticipated devices of this year, especially because Apple is widely expected to finally offer larger screen sizes with its next-gen smartphone.

The wide consensus is that the iPhone 6 will arrive in two large-screen models: one with a 4.7-inch screen and the other with a large 5.5-inch panel. Rumors indicate that the larger iPhone 6 model will launch as the 'iPhone Air.'

While nothing is officially confirmed at this point, various leaks have tried to paint a picture of what to expect from the iPhone 6 in terms of design. Accessory maker Spigen has now taken things to a next level, further boosting anticipation. According to a new post on Spigen's Google+ account, the company is teasing customers ahead of the iPhone 6 launch, virtually confirming both the 4.7- and 5.5-inch sizes for the handset.

Moreover, the company also hints at the iPhone Air moniker with its tagline. As you can see in the image above, Spigen's teaser reads "There's something in the air," indicating that the iPhone Air moniker may be the final name of the device. In fact, the company even lists the accessories for the 5.5-inch model as "iPhone 6 Air Case."

Spigen has already put its iPhone 6 cases up for pre-order on Amazon, mentioning that it expects the products to become available on Sept. 30. Apple is widely expected to launch its next-generation iPhone 6 sometime in September, so Spigen's timeframe for the cases' availability seems to fall in line with the smartphone's purported release.

Keep in mind, however, that this is no official confirmation that the iPhone 6 will indeed launch in September and come in these screen sizes. Spigen could simply be speculating based on recent rumors and leaks, as it's not at all uncommon for accessory makers to release products ahead or along with the launch of a highly-anticipated device. Either way, Spigen offers several case models, so take a peak on Amazon to see what's on the table.

The iPhone 6 still remains in the rumor state for now, so make sure to take everything with a grain of salt until Apple makes an official announcement.
