Samsung Galaxy A5 price, specs revealed in retail catalog

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A5 has leaked yet again, this time starring in a retail catalogue that not only details some specs, but also offers pricing information.

Not too long ago, Samsung launched its semi-premium Galaxy Alpha smartphone with a metallic design, and rumors soon claimed that it was just the first of an upcoming series of metallic smartphones.

Samsung is expected to launch a new A Series of handsets with metallic designs, and this lineup will erportedly consist of three models: the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A7, if recent whispers are to be believed.

The purported Samsung Galaxy A5 has leaked the most, surfacing in all sorts of leaks, reports, and images online. The handset is now the star of a new leak, this time also detailing the pricing scheme.

More specifically, one retailer from Kazakhstan jumped the gun and featured the Samsung Galaxy A5 in a catalog, offering a specs sheet and pricing information for the upcoming smartphone, as Russian publication Hi-Tech first reported (via Phone Arena).

According to the retailer's catalog, the Samsung Galaxy A5 will cost 99,990 tenge (Kazakhstan's local currency), which would translate to roughly €435, or $552, with flat exchange rates. This price is a bit higher than previously rumored, but suggests that the Galaxy A5 may indeed come with a more premium design.

When it comes to specifications, the retail listing reveals that the Samsung Galaxy A5 will sport a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with an HD 720p resolution and pack a 1.2GHz processor under the hood. Other listed specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera and a microSD card slot for additional memory. Previous rumors, meanwhile, mentioned a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 16GB of internal storage capacity, and a 2,330 mAh battery to keep things up and running. The handset is 4G LTE-enabled and runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

The retailer further lists the dimensions of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A5 - revealing that it measures 5.48 x 2.74 x 0.28 inches (139.3 x 69.7 x 7 mm), as well as the weight - 4.33 oz (123 g).

Based on these dimensions and weight, the Galaxy A5 is shaping up as quite a svelte smartphone, and if it sports a metallic design too it could be a real hit for the company in the mid-range category of the smartphone market.

The retailer doesn't offer any exact launch date for the Galaxy A5, but the catalog is valid until Nov. 11, which suggests that an official announcement could be in tow for sometime within this timeframe.
