Samsung Galaxy A7 full spec sheet leaked, boasts high-end Exynos 5433 SoC

A full spec sheet has leaked for the much-rumored Samsung Galaxy A7, painting a clearer picture of what to expect.

Samsung has long been criticized for its use of plastic even for its highest-end devices, but this year the company started moving in the right direction. After launching its Galaxy Alpha smartphone with a metal frame, Samsung went full-metal with its new Galaxy A series.

Everyone expected the company to launch three new metallic devices under its new A series - the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A7. Upon the official unveiling, however, Samsung took the wraps off the Galaxy A3 and A5 models, but made no mention whatsoever regarding the higher-end Galaxy A7.

Nevertheless, the Samsung Galaxy A7 is expected to make its debut soon enough, and a new leak now details the smartphone's purported specifications.

According to an exclusive new report from SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy A7 will sport a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, just as previously rumored. Unlike earlier reports, however, the latest one claims that all markets will get the full HD variant.

Under the hood, the smartphone will reportedly pack an Exynos 5433 processor, i.e. the same one found in the Galaxy Note 4, which suggests that the Galaxy A7 may be considerably more expensive than the Galaxy A3 or A5. The processor will sport Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.8GHz to do the heavy lifting and Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.3GHz for "general tasks."

Previous rumors also suggested that one version of the Galaxy A7 would pack a Snapdragon 615 processor, which is significantly lower-end compared to the Exynos 5433, but this remains unclear at this point.

"It's possible Samsung will only use the Exynos 5433 for the A7, since the 5433 sports LTE connectivity, a feature that has usually prompted Samsung to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon SoCs," SamMobile further notes.

Other purported specs of the Samsung Galaxy A7 include 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front shooter, 16GB of internal storage capacity, a 2,600 mAh battery, and Android 4.4 KitKat on the software side. The handset reportedly measures 150 x 75 x 6.3mm and weighs in at 150 grams. This means that it may not be the lightest Samsung device, but it will be the thinnest.

It remains unclear for now just when the Samsung Galaxy A7 will debut or how much it will cost, but we'll keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available.
