Verizon Wireless has just added a new color option for its Droid Turbo powerhouse from Motorola, now selling the handset in Sapphire Blue Ballistic Nylon.
The Motorola Droid Turbo stirred lots of interest ever since its debut, as it sports impressive specs and features all around. In fact, many said that the Droid Turbo is the flagship Motorola should have launched in the first place, as it's more powerful than the Moto X.
In terms of design, the Verizon Droid Turbo comes with a Kevlar-reinforced rear panel, a water-repellent nanocoating for extra durability, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the front panel.
When it comes to specifications, this rugged powerhouse makes no compromises. The handset sports a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, delivering sharp and vivid visuals that show even the slightest detail. Under the hood, the Droid Turbo packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM for a fast and fluid performance.
Other specs include a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a powerful 3,900 mAh battery that promises to last for up to 48 hours on a single charge. The smartphone also comes with Turbo Charging tech, which allows it to get up to eight hours of use with a 15-minute rapid charge.
The handset launched in either Metallic Glass Fiber or Ballistic Nylon options, and now Verizon is offering a new Sapphire Blue Ballistic Nylon model. The new color option is available for $199 when agreeing to sign a two-year service agreement with the carrier, or $24 per month for 24 months with the Verizon Edge monthly installment program.
"Spring is around the corner. The days of hiding indoors from the cold weather and being outside more are nearly here. To celebrate spring's arrival, the DROID TURBO with up to a 48 hour battery life is now available in a new color model - Sapphire Blue Ballistic Nylon. It's available only from Verizon Wireless online and in stores starting today for $199.99 with new two year activation or $24.99 a month for 24 months on Verizon Edge," the carrier announced on Thursday, March 12.
To further sweeten the deal, Verizon points out that for a limited time customers can get $100 bill credit when activating a new smartphone on its Edge program. Interested customers who prefer to get the smartphone on a two-year contract, meanwhile, can receive the same amount if they trade in their old handset.
