The Motorola Droid Turbo, also known as the Moto Maxx internationally, will launch in India as the Moto Turbo, arriving by the third week of March.
Motorola originally launched its Droid Turbo powerhouse as an exclusive to U.S. carrier Verizon Wireless. The handset stirred lots of interest worldwide due to its top-notch specs and features and the company later launched a global version called the Moto Maxx.
Not too long ago, news surfaced that the smartphone was headed to India as well, and we presumed it would launch under the same Moto Maxx moniker as the global version. Retailer Flipkart has now officially listed the device on its website, and it will apparently launch as the Moto Turbo in India.
Flipkart is now accepting pre-orders for the 64GB version of the Moto Turbo, estimating the release timeframe by the third week of March. Previous speculation suggested that the 64GB version of the smartphone could launch at roughly Rs. 48,000 in India, based on pricing in global markets, but Flipkart is actually charging less, offering the device for Rs. 41,999.
As a reminder, the Moto Turbo powerhouse, aka the Droid Turbo or Moto Maxx, comes with high-end specs and features all around, as well as neat software features and an impressive battery life.
The handset sports a 5.2-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and packs a powerful 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor under the hood, paired with a hefty 3GB of RAM for a fast and fluid performance. Other specs include a 21-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a 3,900 mAh battery to keep things up and running. On the software side, the smartphone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and borrows the most popular features of the Moto X as well.
