Samsung's latest flagship smartphones get new avatars, as the company just announced a Blue Topaz Galaxy S6 and a Green Emerald Galaxy S6 Edge.
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, respectively, made their original debut back at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in early March, and are now ready to roll out globally in two new color options. Samsung's online store lists both The Blue Topaz Galaxy S6 and the Green Emerald Galaxy S6 Edge, but it doesn't mention when they will actually go on sale or whether they will have the same price as the other color options. The new avatars join the existing White Pearl, Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum color options for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
"The Blue Topaz Galaxy S6 represents the perfect fashion accessory for style-conscious consumers looking for a vibrant, expressive and distinctive color, and the Green Emerald Galaxy S6 edge provides a simply stunning color choice that meets the needs of those who want a sophisticated, yet unique looking mobile device," touted Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics. "We aim to bring a truly one-of-a-kind smartphone to consumers and provide them with a seamless combination of dynamic beauty and meaningful purpose, complementing every part of their mobile lives."
Samsung has also collaborated with British psychologist Donna Dawson to explain what each color choice means and what it says about the smartphone owner. According to Dawson, those who choose to get the Blue Topaz version of the Galaxy S6 re likely "more self-confident, fastidious, discriminating, sensitive, exacting and intuitive," while those who go for the Green Emerald version of the Galaxy S6 Edge are likely "balanced, loyal, hard-working, honest, benevolent and concerned for others."
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are currently considered among the hottest smartphones on the market, boasting a sleek design and high-end specs and features all around. It's worth highlighting that both smartphones are available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, and Gold Platinum, while the Blue Topaz version is exclusive to the Galaxy S6 and the Green Emerald variant is only for the Galaxy S6 Edge.
