Huawei has announced the Honor 8 earlier that it would have the smartphone in the United States. Now the new smartphone is finally out in the U.S. What is impressive about the Honor 8 is that it has specs that could rival that of the more expensive models of other manufacturers.
Huawei calls the Honor 8 as its flagship killer, and Phone Arena notes that it is a good alternative for those who might find flagship smartphones to be expensive. In the lucrative smartphone market, most phone manufacturers go after the low-end to mid-range market where most consumers belong to.
The Honor 8 has a 5.2-inch screen, which is average for most smartphones now. It comes with the Kirin 950 processor and will have two variants, as WCCFTech notes. One variant will have a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, while the other will have 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. Storage can be expanded up to 128 GB through microSD.
At the back is a 12MP camera while the front has an 8MP camera. It has a 3,000mAh battery and comes with Android Marshmallow 6.01 as its OS. It is not clear yet if the Huawei Honor 8 would be upgraded to Android Nougat soon. For connection it uses the USB Type-C connector.
The Huawei Honor 8 will be a dual SIM smartphone, which is typical of smartphones in Asia now although such setting would be uncommon in the U.S. The Huawei Honor 8 will be selling at $399.99 though it's not certain if that would be for the 32 GB or 64 GB variant.
The Honor 8 is available in different colors ranging from white to pink although right now the only available one for sale is the white version, according to GSM Arena. Aside from the U.S. the Honor 8 is also available in Europe, the Middle East and Russia.
iTechPost also covers that T-Mobile has a list of its phones which will receive Android Nougat.
