Amazon Unites Twitch And Prime Services To Create Gaming Service Called 'Twitch Prime'

Having acquired Twitch back in 2014 for a whopping $970M, Amazon has been vigilant in presenting any radical changes to its essential systems ever since, apparently contented with operating the streaming service as previously done by its last owners.

This has seem to change as the online retailer revealed 'Twitch Prime' during TwitchCon last week. The new service is a premium subscription, still, that provides a very big amount of added value bonuses on top of the current free account model.

Incorporated as part of prevailing and fresh Amazon Prime subscriptions, Twitch's counterpart will include markdowns from all major game title releases during the first two weeks of the ongoing sale, accompanied by game loot and free digital titles, We Got This Covered reports.

"Twitch Prime members will receive a consistently updated selection of free digital video games and in-game loot like skins, characters, and boosts from the most popular games on Twitch," says the website, with the current month's freebie such as a new hero Tyrande Whisperwind for Blizzard's Hearthstone. On top of this, a Twitch Prime exclusive skin for Hi-Rez Studios' SMITE and also a free copy of Streamline will be handed out during October.

But wait, there's more

On top, still, on what's stated above, you'll also be given access to an enhanced version of Twitch Turbo, "Twitch's original monthly subscription program, including ad-free Twitch viewing, custom emotes, special chat badges and expanded chat colors."

If those aren't enough, you'll also be given free access to any channel of your choice once a month, something that usually costs $4.99. Free channel subscriptions will be treated the same way as standard channels where the streamer receives payment.

The plethora of Twitch Prime's benefits stated above is available now, included in a new or existing Amazon Prime subscription. So what do you think about Twitch Prime? Does it answer all your gaming services needs? Tell us what you think about the merger via the comments section below.
