Reports have been swirling this week by that PC sales have been slowly declining. In a recent survey, it has been found that the decline has now risen for eight straight quarters already. Many analysts call this as "the longest duration of decline in the history of the PC industry." Overall, surveys also found that there are roughly 68 million PCs sold in the third quarter of 2016, which is when compared to last years sales, is a dismal 3.9% dip. Some analysts also claim that it has dipped by 5.7%. But either way, it's bad news for PC-manufacturing companies.
Apple's declining PC line
Among the companies affected by this decline, Apple seems to be the company that contributed most. The Cupertino tech company has continued to see a rapid shrink in its PC market share compared to another industry average. Reports have been saying that Apple shipments for its PC dropped a whopping 13.4%, handing it a 7.2% overall market share. Besides Apple, the only other PC manufacturing company that did worse was Acer, having dropped 14.1% of its shipments, with an overall 6.7% market share.
The Bright Side
Despite all the drama, Apple still has an ace up its sleeve. The world is still direly waiting for the rumored massive upgrade to the Macbook Pro and Air laptops that are confirmed to be released this month. This is one of the major reasons why Apple should hasten up on releasing their newest laptop lines already.
2nd Biggest reason why Apple should release the upgraded Macs sooner than later
One of the reasons people have been much awaiting for the release of a newly updated MacBook Pro and are is that Apple hasn't updated it since last year, and neither model has experienced any full redesign in recent memory. Probably the last time that the physical appearance of the MacBook Air changed was 2010; SIX whole years ago. And the Pro has looked plainly the same since 2012.
Apple needs to dominate, again
Before, Apple's PC sales have dominated its competitors each year. But the recent declining numbers suggest a change of scene. But apparently, its laptop sales are still boomingly on top. Which is why Apple needs to release its new Macbooks now and ever, and reclaim their grounds in the market share.
