Nintendo has been the forefront runners of mobile-console platform that's seemingly new to us. Its latest system, the Nintendo Switch was met with mixed reviews primarily for its hardware and battery capabilities. It appears that the mobile feature isn't enough to sway the fans from its longtime rivals, the Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox platforms.
With the release of an upgraded console the PS 4 Pro and Xbox Project Scorpio, The Nintendo Switch must have new features that can compete against its rivals in order to make a significant competition against the two console giants. Apparently, there's a hidden feature in the Switch that might entice the fans.
Nintendo Switch VR Headset
It seems that Nintendo has been foreshadowing its VR headset all along. If you try to look at the Samsung Gear VR, you can clearly see the potential of the Switch to be docked in a headset VR, considering if the Nintendo is going to that route in the future. At the beginning, Nintendo has been skeptical over the future of the VR headsets but just recently, it changed.
As stated by the President of Nintendo in America, Reggie Fils-Aime, he said: "We've been looking at the VR space since the days of the Virtual Boy. With us, we want to make sure our next content is going to be mainstream, mass market approachable. And when something like VR is at that point, you can expect Nintendo to be there."
Now that VR is the current trend in the market, it's high time that Nintendo will move along the tide and create their very own VR headset which, the Switch has a lot of potentials to begin with. Although it's still irrelevant for now to compare and deduce how the Switch will compete against the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox Project Scorpio, having the same features against its rivals can definitely help the Switch in every way.
Future of Nintendo Switch
Nintendo has yet to disclose any information regarding the Switch' specs but recent leak has shown the capability of the new system. Based on the leaked information, the Switch is very well capable of running a VR feature although it's still debatable whether or not it'll have an HDR or 4K support in the future.
What do you think of the possible Nintendo Switch VR headset? Is Nintendo foreshadowing a VR support or are the already designing the Switch to be a VR headset all along?
