‘Narcos’ Season 3 And 4 Spoilers: El Chapo Will Replace Cali Cartel And More Things About The Upcoming Season

Netflix's hit series "Narcos" is already slated for two more seasons. And while the Cali Cartel would be the focal point of the next season, the 4th one might tackle another well-known drug kingpin known as "El Chapo".

It looks like the show will go on after the death of Pablo Escobar as the third season will now focus on the rise of the Cali Cartel. It looks like the creators will be focusing on making the show focusing on a new kind of battle with illegal drugs. In an interview with showrunner Eric Newman, he was asked about how they will handle the show after Pablo's departure. His response was:

"We don't want to replace Pablo Escobar. We are going to look deeper into the systemic effects within Colombia of cocaine and corruption. Unlike Escobar, who had positioned himself as an outlaw, Cali was very much a part of the system."

He also went to describe the four main villains; The Cali godfathers who are composed of brother Gilberto and Miguel, Pancho Herrara, and a fourth guy called "Chepe." Only time will tell if he can fill in the big shoes of Pablo Escobar, who was played spectacularly by actor Wagner Moura.

Another interesting tidbit in the interview is the possibility of introducing the Mexican Cartel in season four. If this proves to be true, the head of the cartel "El Chapo" could introduce fans of the show to a figure that could be as entertaining and violent as Escobar himself. Here is the full quote from the interview:

"That's funny. It depends on where we start in the Mexican timeline. Chapo was there at the beginning, in a way. He was one of the younger guys in the Guadalajara cartel before it splintered and he and another guy were given Sinaloa as a territory. In our timeline currently, that's already happened because that was in 1985. So it depends. If we take our time, it could take a while. If we jump right into it, it could be really soon. "

An interesting little gem from the show's producer, it seems like "EL Chapo" is a shoe-in to star in the next seasons of Netflix' "Narcos."
