Diablo 4 Blizzcon 2016 Rumor: Will There Be A Diablo 4 Reveal Or Diablo 3 Expansion

Diablo 4 fans are hoping that Blizzard will somehow announce the fourth installment of Diablo at 2016 Blizzcon. The upcoming event is expected to start on November 4.

The Diablo 4 Dice Controversy

Diablo fans were intrigued when one of the dice included in the upcoming event's goodie bag contained the initial "D4". This sparked rumors that Blizzard is teasing fans with this kind of indirect reveal. Some have doubts though and believed that the dice may have been a case of printing error, according to trusted review.

Diablo Event At The 2016 Blizzcon Event

Cynics have pointed out that the Diablo booth for the upcoming 2016 Blizzcon event does not seem to indicate that a major reveal is going to happen. The number of events devoted to Diablo is only a handful compared to the other Blizzard Games. This is also quite disappointing since 2016 is the 20th anniversary of the Diablo franchise. Fortunately, Blizzard will host a Diablo anniversary party near the end of Blizzcon.

Optimists however, said that there is still a chance for a Diablo 4 or at least Diablo 3 expansion reveal, according to Rhykker. For the first time in so many years, the booth is no longer called Diablo 3 but simply Diablo. This seems to indicate that Blizzard is planning something special for the franchise.

Diablo Reveal Speculations

There are also rumors though that Blizzard will celebrate the two decades of Diablo by releasing a remastered or special edition of either Diablo 1 or 2. If this rumor is true, this will be a great surprise since Blizzard has not made a pip about this.

There was a recent rumor that Diablo 3 was put under maintenance mode. This means that no new content will be added. However, such rumor was later dispelled. Instead it gave rise a new rumor that the developer is planning another Diablo 3 expansion. These are all speculations which can easily be confirmed or dispelled a few days from now.
