It has already been confirmed in the past episodes that Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) doesn't make it to the present day of "This is Us" but doesn't necessarily mean he is already out of the storyline. With many flashbacks featured in the series, his character was all the more loved and grieved over by the fans.
As the series progresses every week, it only brings about more tears to the fans of "This is Us" as the story tackles the journey they went through over the years. There were many issues tackled and hinted during the last episode of the show. These issues include Randall's giftedness, Jack's business ventures with his best friend Miguel (who is now Rebecca;s husband after his death) and Kevin, dealing with his father's death and how it made him the person he is now.
Randall Being Gifted Felt Like A Burden To The Child At A Young Age, Not Wanting To Stand Out From His Classmates Again
In a flashback, it has been indicated that Randall is "special" compared to the rest of the kids his age. He is smart, talented and very well-gifted, making him insecure since he doesn't want to be any more different than the kids at school. He would even go as far as intentionally getting lower grades in school just so he wouldn't stand out from the rest of his classmates, which just saddens any parent who learns of such thing. Growing up, Randall achieves many of his goals in his career and even an amazing family that came with it.
Could Jack And Miguel's Business Partnership Have Led To The Latter's Relationship With Rebecca After Jack's Death?
Jack is also seen wanting to get into a business venture, a construction company in which he will name "Big Three Homes." However, it looks like he postpones this dream to partner up with his best friend Michael, who becomes Rebecca's husband after his death. This partnership could have been what led to Rebecca and Miguel getting together after Jack died. It has also been indicated that Kate may not have the best of relationships with her mom, since Randall was the only one seen close to home and whom Rebecca interacts with. Could this be led by marrying her dead husband's best friend?
Kevin Shares How He Grieved Over His Father's Death; Breaks Down As He Remembers The Pain Of The Loss
The greatest tear-jerking moment of the episode was Kevin opening up about his grief over his father's death at a young age. Although it wasn't' indicated how old he was when Jack died, he must have been young but old enough to feel every inch of agony in the matter. He shares how everything that he has become in the present was all because of his father's death. They used to build stuff together but after he passed away, Kevin threw all of it away. He then breaks down as he shares his grief over his father's death, which could mean he was the one closest to him as he would go about a month without eating, only waking up every day just to cry himself back to sleep again.
