BlizzCon 2016 has officially started and Blizzard has lots of surprises for their Overwatch fans as they finally introduced the most controversial character Sombra along with new maps and Arcade mode. In addition, Blizzard CEO, Mike Morhaime also teases more details regarding Overwatch's future offers. Based on the report, Morhaime teases more seasonal events and DLC dedicated to the game.
According to Game Rant, Overwatch's Halloween Event was pre-maturely ended by Blizzard earlier this week which disappoints most of the fans. However, in general, Blizzard has successfully discovered a winning formula making it more engaging. Overwatch has two in-game events listed as to date, Halloween Event and the Summer Games, which clearly provided Blizzard a successful blueprint for their future DLC.
Mike Morhaime shares this message with the investors during an earnings call held last Thursday. According to Gamespot, the Blizzard CEO said that the two events were a major success to the players. He also added that they are now working on other future additions to Overwatch that will be announced soon. Based on the reports, fans might even get a chance to take a peek of that future content on BlizzCon today.
Meanwhile, as for the upcoming seasonal event of Overwatch, many fans speculate that the game would be receiving an update sometime next month for the celebration of Christmas and December holidays. Blizzard has been known for releasing Christmas-themed content on its other games throughout the years. Game titles like World of Warcraft, Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm are most likely to receive Christmas events this year. Additionally, this would be an opportunity for Blizzard's artists to draw some Christmas-themed skins for Overwatch characters. They might draw a Mrs. Claus skin for Tracer or a Santa Claus skin for Winston.
On the other hand, any seasonal event would give the game designers of Overwatch a chance to develop a new Tavern Brawl as well. It is also worth noting that Junkenstein's Revenge and Lucioball proved to be incredibly popular to the player base.
