2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport Update: Turbocharged And Better Than Ever?

Hyundai has proven that they can compete with the biggest automakers in the industry when it comes to quality vehicles. One of its finest creations, the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport has already taken its first drive and apparently, the new model is turbocharged. Does this mean it is now better than ever?

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport's New Turbo

The new sports model of the 2017 Hyundai Elantra is not just for show as it also has power under the hood. According to a report from The Car Connection, the 2017 Hyundai Elentra Sport is equipped with a 1.6-liter inline-4 turbo charged engine, capable of 201 brake horsepower. Paired with a manual six-speed or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, it can send 195 lb-ft of torque to its front wheels.

CNY Central reported that Michael Evanoff, manager for product planning at Hyundai stated that the package is not just about appearance. He then further enumerated more details about the enhancements that the model received in the performance and styling aspects. Among those that Evanoff mentioned include standard leather sports seats, standard proximity key with push-button start, flat-bottom steering wheel, alloy pedals with rubberized texture, 18-inch base alloy wheels, dual chrome exhaust, sport-specific hexagonal grille and a more aggressive front fascia.

As Valuable As They Come

Aside from functional aesthetic additions, The Car Connection also said that the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will also be available in the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport. Other features include dual-zone automatic climate control, moonroof, Infinity-branded audio system, lane departure warning system and auto-dimmer rearview mirror. CNY Central stated that the price for the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport starts at $21,650 for the six-speed manual transmission trim. $1,100 has to be added for the seven-speed trim and $2,400 for the premium package.

Of course, not all enthusiasts are into the same kinds of models and segments of Hyundai vehicles. The 2017 Hyundai Tucson Limited Night Edition would be worth looking into for those on the hunt for a reliable SUV.
