‘Criminal Minds' Exec Producer Virgil Williams Reveals No Thomas Gibson Comeback Anymore

"Criminal Minds" actor Thomas Gibson has been in the news for a few weeks now following his exit from the CBS show and the alleged altercation on set with writer/co-executive producer Virgil Williams that led to his dismissal. Williams had finally broken his silence and he has a lot to say about the actor.

Virgil Williams Speaks Up

After more than a month of keeping down low the controversy involving the "Criminal Minds" cast and crew, Williams has officially revealed the real score about what happened in the reported physical altercation between him and actor Gibson that happened on July 26. A recent report from People said Williams believed that the actor created a "hostile work environment."

Thomas Gibson's Side

Back in September, Gibson already aired his side of the story after the news of physical altercation first broke out. In an interview, he told People: "I feel like it took years to make a good reputation and a minute to damage it." Gibson has been written off from the show since and was last seen in season 12's second episode. As per Gibson's explanation, he had suggested a change of a "contradicting" line in his script to the writer. Later on, he already heard words on set that he kicked Williams "in the shin as he walked by him" which he said did not happen at all.

No More Gibson Comeback

The writer/producer further said that he will miss Gibson's character Aaron "Hotch" Hotchner, adding that "he is hoping the best for the guy." Even so, Williams admitted that he does not intend to work with Gibson in the future. This implies that Gibson might no longer be reprising his role as Hotch on the show in contrary to what had been reported these past weeks. With this information at hand, it could spike another wave of campaign from Gibson fanatics to boycott "Criminal Minds" season 12. Meanwhile, CBS has not yet announced the renewal of the show's season 13.
