Subaru has once again proven its prowess at making high-quality vehicles after taking home the "Best Overall Mainstream Brand" in the annual ALG Residual Value Awards. On top of this feat, Subaru was also able to win the title of the best in six different segments. If that does not tell a lot about quality, what does?
The Annual Residual Value Awards
In a report from PR Newswire, it was explained that the Annual ALG Residual Value Awards is where the vehicles and brands that are able to retain the highest percentage of their original value in a period of three years receive the honor of being the "Best Overall Mainstream Brand". It was mentioned in the same report that Subaru has already accumulated a total of 25 ALG Residual Value awards from 2010 to present.
Best Overall Mainstream Brand
In a report from Torque News, it was stated that Subaru competed against Honda and Toyota and bested them in the residual rankings of all the mainstream automotive brands. In addition, Subaru has also won the title of being the best in the Compact, Sports, Midsize car, Compact Utility, Subcompact Utility and Midsize Utility Vehicle categories with its Impreza, WRX, Legacy, Forester, Crosstrek and Outback respectively.
Not The First 'Best Overall Mainstream Brand' Honor
Apparently, this is not the first time that Subaru has been given the honor of "Best Overall Mainstream Brand". According to PR Newswire, the automaker was also the recipient of the same award in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015. The award it received this year marks the fifth time that Subaru received the distinctive honor.
A Feat That Tells A Lot About Quality
Receiving such an award five times is considered a remarkable feat. This accomplishment tells a lot about quality when it comes to Subaru vehicles. "Residual values are a key indicator of the overall market success and health of a vehicle and brand" said Jim Nguyen, president of ALG.
