Ubisoft's newest title this year is no other than Watch Dogs 2. By far, it's earning good reviews from gamers and critics alike. It's safe to say that the sequel is better than the original game. But of course, the reason for such achievement is worth investigating. Here's why.
For anyone who's playing Watch Dogs 2 right now, they'll agree that the first game -- albeit being nice -- isn't really that impressive. The gameplay and, well, sound track might be commendable. However, as for the graphics, the game failed to offer a good one.
Fortunately, Ubisoft went to revolutionize these things in Watch Dogs 2. In a sense, the sequel is far better-rounded and fun to play compared to the first installment. The characters, in particular, are captivating and their stories are something players would really want to go through.
In Watch Dogs 2, people there live in futuristic San Francisco -- one that is connected to a network called ctOS. The latter is created by an organization (or company, in a sense) called Blume. And with such technology, they have their eyes on every citizen in the city. Of course, this is where the fun begins.
Due to the aforementioned system, the main character of Watch Dogs 2 Marcus Holloway is easily accused -- falsely though -- of crimes he never committed. Anyone who's in his foot will obviously go to clear his reputation and name. But since such thing isn't that easy to achieve, he opts to join a team of hackers called DedSec. Their goal is to take down the company as well as its enormous network to bring stability to the city.
The thing that Watch Dogs 2 fans would love about this game is the personality of each characters -- specifically Marcus and his friends'. Think of them as people that any ordinary person can relate to. They might have brains like Einstein (call them nerd or whatsoever), but they're not that hard to understand and be friends with. It's really fascinating to see Ubisoft take a different road towards character personality. Most games nowadays are fond of introducing bland or often boring protagonists. It's a breath of fresh air to be able to play a character that's not as serious as any others out there.
As for the gameplay of Watch Dogs 2, it's a unique third-person shooter, so to speak. Heck, one can't really put shooting here in the spotlight, as hacking and stealth skills play a much wider role. It's also worth noting that Marcus is equipped with tons of cool gadgets, as noted by Kotaku. The drone, for instance, helps him get information even into the smallest of spaces. It can also be used to distract opponents such as guard and police.
Overall, Watch Dogs2 is a game worth buying and playing. It might not be as big as any other popular titles of today, but the potential is there. But in order to put all of these into reality, it's best to experience the game.
