One of the most powerful hypercars known is the Bugatti Chiron. It is also known as one of the most expensive cars in the world. Recently, its test driver in Germany crashed a $2.5 billion dollar Chiron into a ditch.
The Driver Was Inattentive During The Test Drive
A recent image posted by Fox News shows a black and silver Chiron being towed just outside the Bugatti's parent company Volkswagen Wolfsburg headquarters in Germany. Bugatti has released no details yet on how the incident happened but a spokeswoman mentioned that the driver was inattentive, which caused the crash. However, being such a strong and powerful car, the driver was still lucky that no one was hurt during the accident.
Not The First Time
This is not the first incident of a Bugatti accident as a Texas man crashed a Bugatti Veyron, the Chiron's predecessor, in a lagoon a few years ago. Though, that was no accident as the man was found to be attempting to gain insurance fraud from the crash. The man pleaded guilty and ended up being in jail.
The Bugatti Chiron packs an enormous 8.0liter W16 engine that can reach zero to 60 in just 2.5 seconds. A top speed of 261 miles per hour can also be reached with little to no effort at all. The Bugatti Chiron is as exclusive as they come as Bugatti only plans to manufacture 500 copies of the hypercar. The test driver may have lost control due to the cars tremendous power output. The Bugatti Chiron is really not for everybody and only the skilled and brave are worthy to handle this amazing machine. And, you also need lots of money in order to prove yourself worthy, lots and lots of money. But hey, who needs a hyper car anyway?
