The recently concluded PlayStation Experience 2016 gave us Sony fans a lot to look forward to in the future. With all the reveals and announcements, I can't help but get excited for my PlayStation 4. Though I'm not saying that it's better than the other consoles, the exclusives are something that will keep me buying Sony's console.
The Last Of Us: Part II
One of the best games I have ever played on my PlayStation 3 is Naughty Dog's The Last of Us. The post-apocalyptic world where fungus-infected beings roam introduced us to Ellie and Joel who we have grown to love. We asked for a sequel to see more of these two and now we got it.
However, we might never see the same Ellie and Joel relationship again. The trailer, which can be seen below, focused on the girl who is now five years older. Instead of that innocent look, we see a pained face full of hatred. And as for Joel, we only ever got to see his back and hear his voice.
This detail instantly sparked many theories. The most popular one is that Joel's dead, which might be fueling Ellie's drive for hunting certain people and kill them. As of now, we can't really confirm anything. Although I know that we will have to wait a while before we get to see the full The Last of Us 2 product, I'm just giddy that we will get to experience more of its world in the near future.
Ni No Kuni 2
Now this one, I know, is coming in 2017. Although I greatly enjoyed the first installment from the renowned Studio Ghibli and LEVEL-5, I'm a bit skeptical about Ni No Kuni 2 purely because the former isn't going to be involved anymore. However, I'm choosing to put my trust in this one.
If LEVEL-5 delivers again, then we can expect another great RPG that will keep me playing my PS4 for weeks. Ni No Kuni 2 improves on the battle system in the original title, giving us more room for creating a strategy. There's not much revealed about the latest installment, but we can expect more in the coming months.
Death Stranding
It's Hideo Kojima, need I say more? Though we didn't exactly get anything new at PSX 2016, we did get to see The Game Awards 2016 trailer with the cool music that the E3 2016 video had. The appearances of Guillermo del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen are mindblowing and the graphics are outstanding. Who knew Mads could look so good in a military suit? No homo, though.
This gem is coming to PS4 soon. We didn't get any release date yet, but I hope it arrives soon. I can't stand not knowing what the game is all about, but I have a couple of theories here. I just know it looks weird and creepy as hell, but Death Stranding certainly looks awesome. I'm so looking forward to how it looks using PS4 Pro.
These are only three examples of why I'm not switching sides anytime soon. However, if budget permits, I'll gladly buy myself an Xbox and enjoy the best of both worlds as a console peasant.
